CISWIND-2013, an International Conference & Exhibition "Wind power in the CIS and Eastern Europe" taking place on March 28-29, 2013 in National Sports Complex “Olimpiyskiy”, Kyiv, is a key event in the wind energy industries of the CIS and East European countries.
The CIS and Eastern Europe is one of the youngest and fastest growing renewable energy markets. The vast territories and growth in electricity consumption, increase in prices for energy carriers, environmental pollution and fight against climate change - all these factors have stimulated the wind development in the countries.
Ukraine has already passed the way from the adoption of the "green" tariff to the commissioned wind farms consisting of the most advanced megawatt-class wind turbines. As of October 2012 wind installed capacities of Ukraine reached 276.8 MW and by the end of the year is expected to exceed 300 MW (including the sector of small wind energy). The current national wind market is represented by 18 operating wind power plants (WPP), domestic manufacture of both small scale and utility scale wind turbines. Significant progress achieved in wind development has made Ukraine an undoubted industry leader among the CIS countries.
Considering current trends in the wind energy sectors in the post-Soviet countries, the development of favorable legislative frameworks supporting the renewable energy sector, expansion of wind energy utilization can be expected on the entire territory of the CIS in the nearest future.
The key topics of CISWIND-2013 includes analysis of the global and European markets’ experiences, the policies and legal frameworks for the further wind development, investment attractiveness and peculiarities of financing WPP in the CIS and Eastern Europe, technical aspects of grid connection, “green” tariff regulations and state support in view of recent legislative changes as well as the risk management in the wind energy projects.
A panel discussion on "Integration of the large wind power plants to the grid” is also planned within two-day conference program.
A trade show exhibition will provide participants with an opportunity to showcase their products and services, new technologies in the field of wind energy in the CIS and Eastern Europe.
Participation in CISWIND-2013 is an indicator of the success of the companies interested in the development and promotion of their business in the region. Being the largest international wind industry event in the CIS and Eastern Europe, CISWIND-2013 will bring together the market leaders, heads of the industry agencies, developers and equipment manufacturers, financiers and investors, top international wind experts and professional associations. CISWIND-2013 will give renewed impetus to the development of wind power on the whole territory of the former Soviet Union.
The organizers of CISWIND-2013 are IBCentre and Ukrainian Wind Energy Association. General Partner - World Wind Energy Association (WWEA), Industry partner - Association of Alternative Fuel and Energy Market Participants (APEU). The event is supported by the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine and by a number of specialized and public organizations.
